Penpals

Dear reader,

As a child, there was something sacred to me about letter writing. I think it was the romanticism or the possibility of sharing a secret written world with someone. I was a fervent penpal with kids around Europe, though communication was often quiet for kids needled into it by teachers or parents or the desire to practice their English.

I like newsletters for that same reason, though email will never really compare with an actual handwritten letter. What I’m saying, in a round-about way, is that you can sign up to my newsletter by filling in the form below and we can be virtual penpals!

I don’t know if my emails will have value–even now they’re an ‘if’ and not a ‘when’, especially given that this is still a baby blog, but this post is a bit like one of those letters I sent a kid in Spain: hopeful and rich with possibility.

Yours,

Lisa.
